Ten years and three homeowners ago we were asked to bid on and help design a rear porch for this circa 1870 Italianate home in one of Elgin's Historic Districts. It didn't get built. A year later we were asked again. It didn't get built a second time. Four years ago the present homeowner decided it was gonna happen. It took four more years of design, budgeting, and perseverance but the porch is finally a reality.
