This Victorian bathroom project started over two years ago when a good
customer came to us with a vision of her dream bathroom for her home on Spring
St. in Elgin, Illinois. The existing 1970s bathroom was small with little
storage, cold in appearance, and inappropriate in style for the grand 1890 home
it served.

Our customer located salvaged fixtures including a vintage tub and medicine
cabinet which became the foundation for the design of her "new" bathroom.
The finished project features these salvaged items in combination with a
new historically appropriate sink, classic mosaic tile floor, and typical
bead-board wainscoting with a "trinket-shelf" cap.

A hidden cabinet door set in
the wainscoting and operated by a towel ring "handle" provides extra
storage. Finished off in an historic green paint with classic wallpaper, this
bathroom now beautifully graces the 1890 home it serves.
